Kelly Howard
Kelly Howard
Kelly is the Director of the Kelly Howard Studio. She is a violinist, teacher and conductor known throughout Brooklyn and the greater New York Metropolitan area. She has degrees in music education and performance and is a highly regarded Suzuki educator. Kelly has taught public school music in Valley Stream NY; and taught at Concordia College, Brooklyn College, Long island University, as well as her private teaching. She has also been a featured Suzuki clinician in Paris, Aix en Provence, Marseille as well as at Brooklyn College and The School for Strings in NYC. Kelly has been teaching in Brooklyn since 1991. In addition to teaching, Kelly has performed with many orchestras and chamber ensembles in and around New York. She is currently a founding member of The Windsor Trio and the Artistic Director of the Brooklyn Youth Music Project. Kelly lives in Windsor Terrace with her husband Owen and her son Cooper.
Yolanda Wu
Yolanda Wu
Yolanda Wu is a Boston native violinist and teacher. Yolanda started her violin studies at the age of eight in a Suzuki violin program in her elementary school. She continued her studies with with Eric Rosenblith in Boston and now in New York with Joey Corpus. Yolanda has trained with Suzuki pedagogues Carrie Reuning Hummel and Ed Kreitman. Yolanda has been a member of Musica Bella. She also plays a great deal of chamber music in and around New York and is a frequent performer on the Art on the Corner Series in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. In addition to her years as performer and violinist, Yolanda has also been a Suzuki parent with both of her children.
Corinne Bennett is a longtime Suzuki violinist. She's been a part of the studio since she was 7! Corinne Bennett grew up in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, and began her musical studies at the age of seven. She has studied Suzuki philosophy in Falls Church, Pittsburgh, Austin and Hartford. Corinne has refined her teaching technique under the guidance of master teachers such as Rhonda Cole, Marilyn O´Boyle, Susan Baer & James Hutchins. Corinne believes that learning music is a very important part of child development and strives to connect each child and parent together through this wonderful experience. Corinne plays regularly with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, which performs at the Brooklyn Museum throughout the year and has put on community concerts in Brooklyn. The concerts and family friendly and she encourages all her students to attend. |
